A Meeting With Devialet

NZ Devialet Conference, May 2014 - Day 2 Workshop

Devialet (pronounced Dá ve-a-lay or pretty close to that - they don't seem to be too concerned if you get it right or not) is a French company that is taking the Hi-Fi world by storm - their radical new technology and approach is without doubt the future of Hi-Fi appliances. Last weekend I was lucky enough to be involved in a Devialet Conference & Workshop held here in New Zealand with Andy Kennard, Devialet's General Manager for Asia-Pacific.

With Andy Kennard at the NZ Devialet Workshop
Devialet are truly inspiring - as is Andy Kennard - he has a wealth of knowledge & experience (he was previously a senior exec at Microsoft and has his own business based in Singapore) and is truly passionate about Devialet and where the company is going...

One example of their new approach to design & technology is that Devialet amplifiers have no thermal distortion - unlike normal Class A Amplifiers and such - so there is no background 'hiss' from the speakers unlike normal amplifiers.

Andy discusses where Devialet is headed, and what's coming up in 2015 and 2016
Devialet will also be announcing SAM (Speaker Active Matching) this week in Munich - which will make speaker sets sound even better than they currently do when paired with a Devialet. The workshop was a great opportunity to meet Andy and really get into the detail of what Devialet is all about.

You can read more about the conference at The Audio Consultant Website and more about Devialet at the Devialet NZ Website.
